Crysis 2 Beta Crysis 2 doesn't arrive on the PC, PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360 until
later this year, but developer Crytek is giving some lucky gamers a
chance to get their hands on the game early. According to Blue's News,
prior to the Crysis 2 community portal being taken down for a planned
relaunch, Crytek used it to tell fans how they could be considered for
a beta test of the upcoming shooter.
By being among the first to register for the new site once it
relaunches, gamers will have a chance to secure an access key for the
beta. It's unclear which platforms the beta will run on or how gamers
who already had accounts on the old community portal will be considered
for beta access. (Crytek did note community members' existing login
information will still work on the new site.) The beta keys aren't the
only incentives involved in the relaunch, as Crytek will also be giving
registrants exclusive wallpapers, a badge in the forums, and a chance
at winning a Razer gaming mouse.
Crysis 2 sees players fend off an alien threat once again, aided by
a nanosuit that grants the user superhuman abilities ranging from speed
boosts to active camouflage. One departure the sequel will be taking is
in the setting. While the original game featured lush tropical
environments, Crysis 2 takes place in the urban jungle of New York
City.
